How Hard Is Lepidolite? 

Lepidolite measures 2.5 to 3.5 on the Mohs Scale of Mineral Hardness, which means that it is is a fragile, soft mineral that will scratch easily if struck by or against harder minerals such as Quartz. 

Great care should be taken not to damage the crystal surface by handling the stone gently and keeping it away from other stones. 

Lepidolite Crystal Care

It is not advised to soak Lepidolite in water because the stone is very fragile and prone to water damage: Lepidolite is a soft mineral and is likely to flake, crack, or break if it is submerged in water for prolonged periods of time. 

To clean your Lepidolite crystal, a quick wipe with a dry cloth should suffice.
