Fossil Wood or Petrified Wood is wood that has been replaced over millions of years by Quartz and Chalcedony minerals. The reds displayed in this pebble are from Jasper. The fossilised wood is Araucaria or Monkey Puzzle tree and it is Triassic 248 million years old.
